Antonio Aguilar Jr. was a Mexican-American singer, songwriter, and actor who was born on August 14, 1969, in Los Angeles, California, and died on November 18, 2011, in Mexico City, Mexico. He was the son of famous Mexican singer and actor Antonio Aguilar and actress Flor Silvestre.
Aguilar Jr. started his music career at the age of 18 with the release of his debut album "Para Mi Gente," which became a hit in Mexico and the United States. He became known for his fusion of traditional Mexican music with modern rock and pop influences. He recorded a total of 12 albums throughout his career, including "El Primero," which won a Billboard Latin Music Award for Best Chicano Album.
Apart from his music, Aguilar Jr. also ventured into acting, appearing in Mexican television series and films such as "La Isla de los Hombres Solos" and "El Cielo Rojo." He was also a philanthropist and supported various charity organizations, including the Mexican Red Cross and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Sadly, Aguilar Jr. passed away at the age of 42 after a long battle with leukemia. He left behind a legacy of music that continues to inspire and entertain fans of Mexican music across the globe.
